We are continuously testing our equipment at Maam Cross Station in preparation for opening soon! Our newly built signal cabin (an exact replica of what was originally there, and erected on the old foundations) controls our Up starting signal – which clears the ‘Road’ and drops to the Off position for our vintage train to start its journey towards Oughterard!
The lever is pulled by our signalman. Our guard gives the right away to the driver, by waving a green flag and blowing a whistle! The driver acknowledges the guard (who is in charge of the train) and proceeds carefully. As the train passes the semaphore signal, it is returned to danger (or the On position )!
All in a day’s work!!

We have acquired more vintage signals to complete the signalling of our present layout, but require funding for their transportation…please help..!!
