We made more progress with our volunteers!
Filming took place by RTE Nationwide – for broadcast this coming Friday on RTE One TV!
We installed more genuine MGWR ( Midland Great Western Railway of Ireland ) platform seats – which came from Mullingar – one of the important junctions of the MGWR.
We began the installation of a stove in our Signal Cabin.
Our dining car was further prepared for public use, now that it has new lighting.
We further tested our newly installed outdoor lighting, using salvaged traditional railway lamps!
The newly erected Down Home signal protecting the station has had a lamp case fitted – and both signals are now lit by traditional oil lamps!
Our newly acquired ex Bord Na Mona rebuilt Wagonmaster locomotive LM 284 was tested – it remains to be passed by the CRR – for public use.
Toilets are available for our guests – on operating days.
Thanks to our fantastic volunteers for all the hard work – to get us to this stage in the project!
We would welcome any more help, financially or otherwise – to get us open soon!
