Work continues at Maam Cross – 27 June 2020
Work continues to install the temporary narrow gauge track panels at Maam cross.
At this point the railway formation is shared with Turf cutters and others who work the extensive adjoining bogs and have been using the former trackbed to access their workings. To facilitate our neighbours in this regard we have resurfaced the formation to rail level as track was laid, so as not to inconvenience this traffic.
Some more vegetation clearance was made which has really opened up the views of the spectacular scenery near the station.
